Wilbraham — State Representative Gale D. Candaras (D-Wilbraham) announced today that nomination forms for the 2005 Commonwealth Awards—the state’s highest honor in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences—are now available.
Every two years, the Commonwealth Awards are given by the Massachusetts Cultural Council to individuals and organizations that have made extraordinary contributions to the cultural life of Massachusetts. The MCC is accepting nominations in five categories including Catalyst, Community, Cultural Organization, Education and Individual Achievement.
The seventh biennial Commonwealth Awards will be presented at the Park Plaza Hotel in Boston on Monday, March 28 at the close of the MCC’s annual cultural leadership conference.
Forms are available through the offices of Representative Candaras or online at www.massculturalcouncil.org. Nominees must reside in Massachusetts and previous Commonwealth Awards recipients are ineligible. Nominations must be postmarked by Friday, December 10, 2004.
