CANDARAS ANNOUNCES FINANCIAL CONFERENCE FOR WOMEN

WILBRAHAM – State Representative Gale D. Candaras (D-Wilbraham) announces a great opportunity for women of all ages and backgrounds. On Saturday, November 22, 2003 there will be a conference held at Western New England College, titled “The Money Conference for Women” This conference is intended to educate women on many financial matters to ensure that they receive fair and equal treatment in the workforce and with all financial transactions.

“This conference was first initiated several years ago by former State Treasurer Shannon O’Brien. Current Treasurer Timothy Cahill has seen its importance and continues to offer this most informative conference to all women. And the best yet is that it is totally free for one to attend” said Candaras.

The conference will focus on money management, retirement, and investment strategies for women of all ages, economic levels and financial knowledge. Presentations will be made by representatives of the financial services industry who will offer practical advice and tools to help participants design and implement a personal savings strategy. There will also be a breakout into smaller workshops which will focus on such topics as investing, retirement planning, college financing, getting out of debt and choosing a financial advisor.

“While the conference runs from only 7:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. an enormous amount of financial subjects are covered. This conference does indeed give every woman an opportunity to better herself financially through education” concluded Candaras.

While previous conferences have been held in downtown Springfield, this year’s conference will be held on the campus of Western New England College, which should prove itself more accessible to all those who attend. Should you wish to register for the conference you may do so by logging onto the Internet at www.moneyconferenceforwomen.com or you may contact my district office at (413) 599-4785 to request a registration form.
