CANDARAS PUBLICIZES FREE PRESCRIPTION DRUG PROGRAM ON CABLE SHOW

Springfield – State Representative Gale D. Candaras’ (D-Wilbraham) new cable show, A Woman In The House will air continuously on the Springfield Government Cable Channel 17, the week of November 17th, Monday through Friday; and Wilbraham Public Access Cable’s Channel 5 on Thursday, November 20th at 8:30 p.m. and Friday, November 21st at 8:30 a.m.

Candaras’ show features an interview with special guest, Representative John W. Scibak (D-South Hadley), who is serving his first term as State Representative in the 2nd Hampshire District and is a member of the House Committee on Human Services and Elderly Affairs. Scibak, a hospital consultant by profession, shares vital information on Candaras’ show regarding the state’s Pharmacy Outreach Program and opportunities for income eligible people to receive free prescription medications.

Many pharmaceutical manufacturers offer free prescription drugs to eligible seniors and other individuals. Candaras and Scibak explore this topic and provide details to viewers on how to access the Pharmacy Outreach Program through MassMed Line.

“In Massachusetts, many individuals don’t participate in the Senior Pharmacy Program. Moreover, fifty thousand people lost their MassHealth and prescription coverage this year alone. There is a healthcare crisis in our state and much-needed information pertaining to opportunities for eligible individuals to receive free prescription drugs is not getting to those who need it most,” Candaras said.

Also, during the half hour interview with Scibak, the Representatives discuss the complexities of the international pharmaceutical market and prescription programs offered by Canadian pharmaceutical companies.

Candaras added: “Every month my cable show, A Woman In The House, airs in Wilbraham, Springfield and East Longmeadow on the public access cable channels. The show is designed to provide valuable information to the residents of my district. Its important that timely information, such as free pharmaceutical programs be shared with those who require assistance in obtaining prescription drugs.”
