Senator Gale Candaras adores children and children adore her, which was especially evident after the reading aloud session they enjoyed with her at the Springfield Day Nursery earlier this month.

 

 

 

Jim and Sandy Davis are the 2007 recipients of the East Longmeadow Lions Club Distinguished Citizens of the Year award. Senator Gale Candaras (center) presented the couple with a Citation in honor of their accomplishments at a banquet held in their honor.

The Joint Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Chaired by Senator Gale Candaras and Representative Ruth B. Balser (D-Newton), convened at Western New England College School of Law’s Legislative Institute on June 11, 2007. State legislators from eastern and western Massachusetts gathered to hear testimony on mental health and substance abuse treatment and how these issues are handled in the criminal justice system.

State Senator Gale Candaras (center) celebrates the 60th Anniversary of the United States Air Force Band of Liberty’s spring break concert series with former East Longmeadow Selectman, Susan J. Grimaldi (left) and her husband Albert Grimaldi (right). Susan is the 2007 East Longmeadow Rotary Summer Concert Series Chairman and Albert is the Rotary Sound Technician Chairman. Senator Candaras presented a Senate citation to Lieutenant Colonel Larry H. Lang, the band’s Commander and Conductor, before a large group of concertgoers at the East Longmeadow High School Auditorium.
